Cardwell has seen three games with the Sharks this season

The San Jose Sharks have recalled forward Ethan Cardwell from the San Jose Barracuda, the team announced Thursday.

Cardwell, a 2021 fourth round pick of the Sharks, has split time between the NHL and AHL this season. He has gone pointless in three games with the Sharks and has collected one goal and seven points in 13 games with the Barracuda.

Having turned pro in 2023-24, Cardwell had a successful rookie season in the AHL, putting up 23 goals and 20 assists for 43 points in 71 regular season games.

Prior to making the jump, Cardwell played junior hockey in the OHL with the Saginaw Spirit and the Barrie Colts. Over parts of four seasons, he collected 200 points in 189 regular season games.

With Cardwell getting recalled once again, he has a real opportunity to seize a spot with the Sharks in the near future. He has translated well to the pro level and should be only continue to get better.
