The San Jose Sharks placed Barclay Goodrow on injured reserve and have recalled Ethan Cardwell.

Goodrow left last night's game against the Ottawa Senators in the first period with an upper-body injury and didn't return. Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky did not have an update on the forward's status after the game. 

Cardwell earns his second call-up to the NHL. The forward played three games this season and hasn't recorded a point. Cardwell has one goal and six assists in 13 games with the San Jose Barracuda.
