2023-24 Yanick Dupré Memorial award winner stays with Crunch

The Syracuse Crunch have announced their second signing of the day, re-signing forward Daniel Walcott to a one-year AHL contract for the 2024-25 season.

A fifth round draft pick of the New York Rangers in 2014, Walcott was traded to Tampa Bay for a seventh round pick in 2015, he has remained with the organization since. He now holds the Syracuse franchise record for games played with 433.

The 30-year-old had 24 points and 66 penalty minutes in 55 games for the Crunch this season before adding three points in eight playoff games.

Walcott was the Crunch's winner for the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award. He then took home the 2023-24 Yanick Dupré Memorial award for outstanding contributions to local community and charities.

Next season will be Walcott's tenth with the franchise, he has 135 points over 434 career AHL games. He played one game for the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2021.

A fan favorite, Crunch fans will be ecstatic to see Walcott back with the team for another season.
