2018 sixth round pick had 38 points in AHL this season

Texas Stars forward Emilio Pettersen was officially added to Norway's roster today ahead of their game against Canada at the 2024 IIHF Men's World Championship.

In his first game of the tournament Pettersen played 17:58 and went minus three with one shot on goal as Norway lost to Canada 4-1.

Pettersen and Mats Zuccarello are the only players on Norway who currently play in North America.

Originally a sixth round draft pick of the Calgary Flames in 2018, Pettersen played two years at the University of Denver before joining the Stockton Heat.

Pettersen has 122 points in 215 career AHL games over four seasons with Stockton, the Calgary Wranglers, and the Texas Stars.

The 24-year-old was traded from Calgary to the Dallas in March in exchange for Riley Damiani.

Pettersen found success in the AHL with Texas, posting eight points in 12 regular season games before a strong showing in the Calder Cup Playoffs where he had five points in seven games.

He will be relied upon to help provide offense for Norway going forward.
