Grebenkin went pointless in seven games with the Leafs, has 10 points in 13 games with the Marlies this season

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced they have assigned forward Nikita Grebenkin to their AHL affiliate Toronto Marlies and activated Max Domi off injured reserve.

Grebenkin picked up two shots on goal and did not record a point in seven games with the Maple Leafs this season while averaging 8:45 of ice time per game.

The 21-year-old's playstyle has quickly endeared him to Leafs fans but his ability to avoid waivers leaves him the odd man out with the return of Domi and Max Pacioretty.

A fifth round pick in 2022, Grebenkin will return to the Marlies where he has four goals and 10 points in 13 game this season.

Domi has not played since Nov. 16 against the Edmonton Oilers with a lower-body injury.

Grebenkin will likely return to the Marlies lineup tonight against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms
