Belleville knock out Toronto in overtime of Game 3

The Toronto Marlies, American Hockey League affiliates of the Toronto Maple Leafs, were eliminated in overtime of game three by their rivals the Belleville Senators.

Much like the regular season matchups between these two teams the series was extremely close, with games two and three ending in overtime.

Belleville's Garrett Pilon and Toronto's Kyle Clifford and Marshall Rifai are tied with five others for the lead in Calder Cup Playoff scoring with four points each.

Pilon - Belleville's leading scorer during the regular season - was the hero, scoring the winning goal to send the Senators to the next round

Four of Toronto's eight goals this series came from defensemen, with Marshall Rifai notching three of them.

The series ended with some theatrics as Kyle Clifford and Boko Imama attempted to go at each other in the handshake line.

The Marlies had a solid season, finishing with a record of 34-26-10, two points behind Belleville in the North Division.

With lots of injuries to the Toronto Maple Leafs and the late season folding of Toronto's ECHL affiliate Newfoundland Growlers, the Marlies had 43 different skaters and six goalies skate in at least one game this season.

Belleville will face the Cleveland Monsters in the North Division Semifinals in a best-of-five series.
