The Toronto Marlies announced they have re-signed forward Joseph Blandisi to a one-year AHL contract for the 2024-25 season.

Blandisi wrapped up his third season with the Marlies in 2023-24 where he led the team in scoring with 25 goals and 59 points in 70 games, he also had 110 penalty minutes. He served as an assistant captain.

Originally selected in the sixth round of the 2012 draft by the Colorado Avalanche, Blandisi has played in 101 career NHL games with the New Jersey Devils, Anaheim Ducks, and Pittsburgh Penguins, notching 10 goals and 31 points.

The 30-year-old has now played parts of 10 seasons in the AHL, becoming a leader on and off the ice.

Last season was a career-high statistically for the Markham, Ontario, native but his offensive game has steadily improved as he has gained experience. In 390 career AHL games he has 111 goals and 175 assists, he also plays with an edge, racking up 582 penalty minutes.

Blandisi will once again be relied on to provide offense as the Marlies look to incorporate a younger group of forwards this season.
