Per the AHL transactions page defenseman Tyson Jugnauth has been signed by the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
Neither the Seattle Kraken or Coachella Valley had announced the signing at the time of writing, so there is no word on whether he is signing an entry level contract.
Drafted in the fourth round 100th overall by the Seattle Kraken in the 2022 NHL draft, Jugnauth had 41 points in 41 games this season and 16 in 18 games in the playoffs for the Portland Winterhawks.
The 20-year-old played two years at the University of Wisconsin before joining the Winterhawks for the 2023-24 season.
A good skater with great offensive instincts, Jugnauth can help provide offense from the back end for the Firebirds.
Coachella Valley just advanced to the Western Conference Finals after sweeping the Ontario Reign in three games. They will play the winner of the Milwaukee Admirals and Grand Rapids Griffins series.
