New Years Eve has a loaded slate of NHL action with a handful of exciting matchups timed throughout the day so you can enjoy the last day of the year to the max.

The biggest game of the day is the one taken outside with the Winter Classic between the Blackhawks and Blues. The game will take place at the famous Wrigley Field in Chicago where the legendary baseball diamond has been transformed into a hockey players paradise. If you wanna watch the game and profit from it, we have the picks for you.

Bet: Blues Blackhawks Over 5.5 goals (-105)

The Blackhawks may have a hard time filling up the incredible venue that is Wrigley Field as they've been very difficult to watch this season. Star forward Connor Bedard has regressed from a superstar in the making to an almost unnoticeable player. It's hard to blame the 19-year-old phenom as his support staff has been the greatest with Chicago averaging 2.51 goals per game which is third-worst in the NHL.

It's also hard to tell if Chicago is getting those goals only because teams start to take their foot of the gas when they are up by so many goals with the Blackhawks having the league's worst record at 12-23-2 and enter the outdoor game on a four-game losing skid.

The Blues on the other hand look quite feisty just under halfway through the season. They have a 17-17-4 record that keeps them four points out of a wild card spot. They sit outside of the playoffs primarly because of their recent rough stretch as they've won just four of their last 11 games.

They will look to get a bounce back win during the Winter Classic as they've dominated the Blackhawks in recent history with a convincing 13-2-1 record over Chicago in their last 16 matchups.

I wouldn't count out the Blackhawks just yet the home team has a record of 16-4-2 in the past 22 outdoor games. These two have also combined for six or more goals in seven of their last ten matchups and outdoor games usually promise offence with five or more goals in 28 of the 41 all-time NHL outdoor games so far.
