It took some overtime heroics from Carter Verhaeghe and we've got ourselves a series. Florida started fast in game 3, scoring in the first two minutes. Bobrovsky returned to his playoff form and Florida needed all of it to make the series 2-1.
If you followed the predictions here and on the pre-game Twitter space hosted by The Hockey News and BetMGM, you made some good money. Let's turn back to the research and see if we can continue our winning ways.
With Bobrovksy regaining his form, and the volume of shots Vegas has generated, we'll go back to the well of Bobrovksy o27.5 saves at -120. I'm expecting another close game that may see overtime, which should put Bobrovksy in the 33-36 save range. There is plenty of value in this number.
On the flip side, Vegas is blocking every shot possible. Zach Whitecloud and Brayden McNabb easily cleared their numbers in game 3 as they drew the tougher matchups. Whitecloud's line doesn't have value at -200, but McNabb's line of over 2.5 at -135 is a good spot. McNabb drew the Barkov line as a matchup on the road. If that continues, he should easily clear this number as he blocked seven shots in on Thursday.
Paul Maurice hard matched Barkov against the Eichel line in game 3 Barkov won the matchup. None of the players on either top line went over their number for shots. The Tkachuk line played a lot against the Stone line where the most scoring opportunities took place. Stone, Stephenson, Tkachuk and Bennett all recorded 3 or more shots in game 3. If that is a matchup tonight, there are three players with value on their lines. Tkachuk over 3.5 shots at +105, Stephenson over 1.5 shots at -120 and Stone o2.5 shots at -110.
As for game bets, I expect this to be another tight game. Vegas has been the better team throughout the series and it didn't go their way in game 3. They've been good about resetting and sticking to their process. I'll take Vegas ML tonight.
