Montreal Canadiens forward Cole Caufield scores 13th goal of the season in his first game back in Columbus

The Montreal Canadiens traveled to Columbus Wednesday night to take on the Blue Jackets. The entire Columbus Blue Jackets organization spent the off-season mourning the loss of superstar forward Johnny Gaudreau, who died in a tragic biking accident.

Many around the sport idalized Gaudreau for his enormous heart and passion for the game and one of those players is Montreal's Cole Caufield. The 23-year-old Wisconsin native looked up to Gaudreau as a fellow American who overcame odds despite his smaller size and became a hockey superstar.

Caufield changed his number following the tragedy from 22 to Gaudreau's signature number 13 in an act of honouring his hockey hero. The Canadiens played their first game in Montreal since and Caufield had gone through a lengthy scoring drought holding him to just 12 goals in his first 21 games of the season.

In a surreal moment, Caufield finally snapped his rough skid and scored his 13th goal of the season, wearing 13 and doing so in the city that Gaudreau came to after becoming a free agent in July of 2022.

It was an incredible moment in the game of hockey and something no one ever expected or thought would happen. It would've been the best anytime goal bet to take as you win some money from the goal while can also appreciate the moment.
