Filip Zadina: Cheap Scoring Threat For A Contender?

Filip Zadina's time with the Detroit Red Wings is done. He and Detroit will mutually terminate his contract, allowing him to find a new home and Detroit to remove his salary from the salary cap. It is risky for Zadina, who will forego nearly four million dollars to get a fresh start. But he's betting on himself.

Contending teams need players to perform above their contract value. Zadina, who is likely to be signed for about a million bucks, would qualify as a cheap scoring option if he can find his finishing touch. He is a positive player at both ends of the ice, but his finishing has held him back from reaching his potential. Could a fresh start with a contending team allow him to find his scoring touch? He certainly has a better chance to find it with better players, on a contending team.
