Ryan Henkel discusses the Canes loss to the Capitals on the Carolina Hurricanes site.
I didn't like the first period. We were not very good and then gave up a late goal which we don't want to do obviously. Second period, the first 15 minutes, we were doing exactly what we needed, but their goalie made a couple of nice saves and then we gave up another one kind of late which just deflates the whole group.
So now you're not getting three against these guys probably the way they defend. We gave a good effort, but I think we messed up because that first period was just not what we needed it to be.

Ryan Henkel talks about a veteran goalies debut on the Carolina Hurricanes site.
"We were going to have to put him in here at some point," Brind'Amour said. "He's been out a while and hasn't played a lot. So we have to get him in there to get him up to speed."

Ryan Henkel discusses the Canes leading scorer on the Carolina Hurricanes site.
The Czech winger is also outpacing Eric Staal, who had a team record 100 points in 2005-06, as he reached the 40-point mark in 26 games as opposed to Staal needing 27.
The forward also became just the third Czechia-born player to reach the 40 point mark in 26 games or fewer joining David Pastrnak and Jaromir Jagr.
