The Czech forward is blossoming into a true superstar.
What more can we say about Martin Necas?
With another multi-point night in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche, Necas became the first player in the league to 40 points and the fastest in franchise history.
Necas, November's First Star of the Month, entered the game tied with Nathan MacKinnon for the league lead in points, each at 39, and not only did he register a point first, he picked up more than MacKinnon to once again claim sole possession for the league lead in points (41).
The Czech winger is also outpacing Eric Staal, who had a team record 100 points in 2005-06, as he reached the 40-point mark in 26 games as opposed to Staal needing 27.
The forward also became just the third Czechia-born player to reach the 40 point mark in 26 games or fewer joining David Pastrnak and Jaromir Jagr.
Necas has had to carry the load for Carolina this season as the rest of the team's top forwards have struggled to produce consistently at 5v5, but he's shown no signs of struggling with that responsibility.
"Marty's just continued on," said Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour. "I mean, there's not much more that we can say. He's just kind of taken it on his shoulders right now on the offensive side of things. He's been our guy."
