Simulating the Maple Leafs next seven games to see how many goals Auston Matthews can score in NHL 24

Auston Matthews is only seven goals away from hitting the 70 mark, becoming the first player to reach this incredible achievement since Teemu Selanne and Alexander Mogilny did it in 1992-93.

He has seven games remaining to do so and Toronto's last two games of the season are against Florida and Tampa Bay. Those games could decide where these teams finish in the standings and who their first-round matchups will be.

Someone being this close to hitting 70 goals in a single season may not happen for a while. We thought of a fun activity to do and head into NHL 24 Franchise Mode and simulate the remaining Maple Leafs games, to see if No. 34 can pot home seven goals.

The results are in the video below, as well as the game logs to see how he performed.

Can Auston Matthews Hit 70? Simulating Toronto's remaining seven games

Auston Matthews' NHL 24 Simulation Game Logs

Game 76 - Toronto vs Montreal - 1 assist, 7 shots, 21:49 TOI
Game 77 - Pittsburgh vs Toronto - 1 assist, 4 shots, 21:56 TOI
Game 78 - Toronto vs New Jersey - 2 goals, 4 shots, 18:58 TOI
Game 79 - New Jersey vs Toronto - 1 goal, 1 assist, 3 shots, 18:33 TOI

Oh so close! Auston Matthews ended up scoring six goals in our simulation and finishing one goal shy of the 70-goal mark.

Toronto fans, let's hope this isn't an accurate simulation of what's to come in No. 34's chase for 70.
