NHL 24 community playtest has been announced, and here are some things you should know. Keep in mind that these are based on previous years of EA NHL playtests.
Firstly, and perhaps most important, the build users will play on is a work in progress, so it is not the final game nor what should be expected on official release day.
The basis for the playtest is to give players a sneak peek into the game and a chance to provide EA Sports feedback. Feedback could pertain to bugs, glitches, and other issues. This feedback will guide the development team at EA in fine-tuning and resolving these issues before the game’s official launch.
A big focus from a gameplay standpoint will revolve around exploits. Through playing and experimenting, users may encounter unintended exploits, and sharing this feedback will be crucial to ensure any game-breaking exploits are resolved as soon as possible.
Users should only expect to get access to some features and modes in the game. Only one to two game modes may be available while others are not (e.g., 6v6 EASHL but not 1v1 versus).
Access to 6v6 EASHL is a safe assumption since EA will likely want to stress-test the servers to ensure functionality. The team will presumably deal with any performance issues before release. Similarly, this provides reassurance that these game modes work as intended, particularly when considering cross-platform functionality.
Also, recording, streaming, or taking game screenshots is strictly prohibited. So, to avoid being suspended or banned from accessing the game altogether in the future, users should ensure they follow the policy and do not put themselves at risk.
