Phil Esposito and Joe Pavelski highlight new Prototypes in HUT
In honor of the recent solar eclipse that had the entire world on notice, EA SPORTS introduced four new Prototypes into NHL 24 Hockey Ultimate Team, with the highlight being the Total Eclipse zone ability. For players who love to try to score with tips or screened shots, these builds are meant for you.
Total Eclipse is meant to act as a mechanic that reduces the goalie's vision while being screened, effectively blocking out his eyes, just like the events in the sky did for everyone this past Monday.

All four cards have the same foursome of abilities. As mentioned earlier, Total Eclipse is the zone ability, and Unstoppable Force, Big Tipper, and Crease Crasher are the superstar abilities. Of course, they all come with 99 hand-eye.
Legendary Boston Bruins centerman, Phil Esposito, has the strongest card. He's regarded as one of the best goal scorers ever, with 717 career goals, and scored 60+ in a single season three times. That is why his shooting stats can be maxed out at 99 with the Shooting Boost and Sniper Forward synergies utilized.
You can also get his hands stats maxed out, apart from puck control, with both Playmaking Forward and Playmaking Boost synergies equipped.
Joe Pavelski - representing the San Jose Sharks - and Zach Parise - representing the New Jersey Devils - have the fastest cards, coming in with 96 speed and acceleration. They can get up to 99 agility with activated Two-Way Forward and Defensive Boost synergies.
Adam Graves - representing the New York Rangers - has a well-rounded build. His checking stats are the highest with 95 body checking, so you can go around and bully your opposition around the ice with him.
His shooting stats are as good as Esposito's at 96 across the four attributes. He has Sniper Forward and Shooting Boost as synergies, just like Esposito, and can get his shooting stats maxed out at 99.
Their cards currently go from around 160,000 to 250,000 coins on the auction house. However, you do have until Apr. 12 to get them via pack openings.
