Washington's John Carlson and T.J. Oshie along with Jeff Skinner and Nick Leddy honored for their 1000th NHL game

EA SPORTS released four new HUT cards in NHL 24 honoring players who recently reached the 1000 game mark. Members from the Washington Capitals, T.J. Oshie and John Carlson, highlight the four new Milestone cards introduced into the game.

Both players received 93 overall cards, with John Carlson's being the best. John Carlson played in his 1000th game Mar. 30th versus Boston. The Capitals organization held a ceremony before their game yesterday for Carlson.

Washington gave him and his family a special moment, allowing his kids to be on the ice alongside him during warmups.

T.J. Oshie played in his 1000th game on Mar. 16 against the Vancouver Canucks. He had his ceremony when Washington returned home from their Western road trip eight days later.

Oshie has split his NHL career between St. Louis and Washington. At 37 years old and with one year remaining on that eight-year contract he signed with the Capitals back in 2017, one can only wonder if he will be entering his final NHL season in 2024-25.

Jeff Skinner and Nick Leddy were the other players who received Milestone cards in NHL 24 for reaching 1000 games.

Skinner registered his 1000th game on Apr. 2 in front of the home crowd in Buffalo. Unfortunately for him, he became the first player in NHL history to play in 1000 regular season games and not appear in a single playoff game.

Skinner was drafted 7th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2010. He spent eight seasons with the Canes, winning the Calder Trophy in 2010-11, and played 579 games for their organization. He was traded in the summer of 2018 to Buffalo.

Nick Leddy suited up Mar. 23 on the road against Minnesota for his 1000th NHL game, a fitting place since he was drafted 16th overall by the Wild in 2009, though he never played a game for them.

Leddy split time between Chicago, Islanders, Detroit, and St. Louis, with his longest tenure in New York. He hoisted the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2012-13 season.

He played one more year with them before being traded to the Islanders at the start of the 2014-15 season. Leddy played 518 games for them, including a couple of trips to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Pittsburgh defenseman Erik Karlsson is the next closest player to reach the 1000-game milestone. He sits currently with 997 games and his 1000th game should come on Saturday, Apr. 13, against the Boston Bruins.
