As 14 teams played their third games of this Champions Hockey League season, all three Swiss teams in action were winners, two goalies picked up shutouts and Färjestad Karlstad became the first team to win three games – although Pardubice and Zurich can join them on Friday.

Tappara Tampere 6 (FIN) – Rouen Dragons (FRA) 1

Rouen stayed with Tappara for about half of this game, but the Finnish powerhouse proved too much, pulling away with three third-period goals. Arttu Kärki scored twice and Oskari Luoto had three points in the winning cause, while Juho Tommila was a stalwart on the Rouen defense, logging 28:03.

Oceláři Třinec 1 (CZE) – Växjö Lakers (SWE) 3

After a disappointing home loss to the Sheffield Steelers in their last game, the Lakers turned in a solid road effort against the five-time running Czech champs. Joachim Blichfeld and Dennis Rasmussen, their usual top offensive players, were again with a goal and an assist each.

Sønderjyske Vojens (DEN) 0 – Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven (GER) 5

Bremerhaven used its power play to score three times in the first two periods, then added a pair of even-strength goals in the third to win going away in Denmark. Alex Friesen and Phillip Bruggisser and Alex Friesen had two points each, and Maximilian Franzreb made 16 saves for the shutout.

    Fehérvár AV19 (HUN) 1 – Färjestad Karlstad (SWE) 3

This game remained scoreless through two periods, despite play being one-sided in Färjestad’s favor. Fehérvár goalie Dominik Horváth made 45 saves but was finally beaten twice early in the third and once late. After his two-goal performance last game, Oskar Steen had three assists in this one.

    Genève-Servette (SUI) 4 – Storhamar Dragons (NOR) 3 [SO]

Storhamar led 1-0 and 2-1, then got a late goal by Samuel Solem to force overtime. For the reigning European club champs, Czech Michael Špaček had two goals and one assist in regulation time and was also credited with the shootout winner.

Lausanne HC (SUI) 7 – Ilves Tampere (FIN) 2

Lausanne was up 2-0 after one period and 4-2 late in the third before scoring three times in the last three minutes to win handily. Antti Suomela completed his hat trick in the last minute and Ken Jäger and Michael Raffl also had three points each.

    KAC Klagenfurt (AUT) 0 – Fribourg-Gottéron (SUI) 4

Marcus Sörensen scored 1:12 in and Fribourg was up 3-0 by the 14-minute mark, then coasted the rest of the way to victory. Samuel Walser scored twice and, despite being outshot 25-17, Swiss national team goalie Reto Berra picked up the shutout.

    Friday’s schedule:

Unia Oświęcim (POL) – Red Bull Salzburg (AUT)
Skellefteå AIK (SWE) – Lahti Pelicans (FIN)
Eisbären Berlin (GER) – Dynamo Pardubice (CZE)
ZSC Lions Zurich (SUI) – Straubing Tigers (GER)
Sheffield Steelers (GBR) – Sparta Prague (CZE)
