Fresh off a championship title with Tappara, former fifth-overall pick Olli Juolevi moves to Jokerit, seeking a third Finnish trophy following his departure from the NHL.

Former Vancouver Canucks' top prospect Olli Juolevi has transferred from Tappara to Jokerit in Liiga. The transfer comes after he and Tappara won the 2026 Liiga Championship just two weeks ago.

That adds another Liiga championship to his belt, where he will be searching for a third with his new club.

He had three assists in 18 games with his former club and added one more in eight playoff games. Over his entire time in Liiga, he has scored 10 goals and 21 assists for 31 points in 105 games.

Juolevi, 28, was once deemed a top prospect after being drafted by the Canucks in 2016, with the fifth overall pick. Unfortunately, his career never quite materialized, and after just 41 games in the NHL, he headed back overseas.

During his time in the NHL, he played for the Canucks, Florida Panthers, and Detroit Red Wings while also playing for the Utica Comets, Charlotte Checkers, and San Diego Gulls. Since leaving the NHL, he has played for Timra IK in the SHL, and the aforementioned Tappara.
