Fresh off an underdog bronze medal and a breakout international campaign, Tinus Luc Koblar brings size and high-octane production to Toronto’s system before returning to Sweden.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have officially signed one of their more interesting European prospects, forward Tinus Luc Koblar, to a three-year entry-level contract. Although he's signed to his ELC, Koblar is playing the 2026-27 season back in Sweden with Rögle BK.
The Maple Leafs selected him with the 64th overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NHL Draft. He is coming off what most consider to be a breakout on the international stage. Koblar spent the season in Sweden with Leksands IF of the SHL, where he held his own against men and put up eight goals and 14 points in 47 games.
The club numbers were good, but it’s really the international stuff that pushed people to pay attention. Koblar had 10 points in five games at the World Juniors, then carried that into the World Championship in Switzerland. He ended up playing a pretty big role for Norway, finishing with nine points in 10 games and helping them to a bronze medal that most people didn’t see coming.
At 6-foot-3 and around 190 pounds, there’s a mix of size and skating there that stands out when you watch him in stretches. He competes hard, moves pucks well, and doesn’t really look out of place in any of the three zones.
The 18-year-old has had an interesting professional hockey career to this point. He was born in Slovenia but is a citizen of Norway, which is the country he chooses to represent. Which is what will likely happen again this season. He is expected to suit up for Norway at the World Juniors again in the upcoming tournament in Edmonton, Canada, starting on December 26th.
