From untapped overseas markets to high-profile NHL veterans seeking new homes, discover the international stars shifting the hockey landscape as the global free agency frenzy cools down.

Free agent signings are happening all over the hockey world right now. And, typically, that means things get lost with all the news circulating around. Because of that, it's good to recap all the signings of players born outside of North America, since the market opened 14 days ago.

So, here is a list of free agents that signed overseas that you may not have heard about.

  • Givani Smith - Shanghai Dragons
  • Ivan Fedotov - Spartak Moskva
  • Alexander Alexeyev - Salavat Yulaev Ufa
  • Dmitri Yushkevich - Shakhter Soligorsk
  • Martin Frk - Shanghai Dragons
  • Chase Priskie - Barys Astana
  • David Kampf - HC Litvinov
  • Miroslav Satan - HK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas
  • Danil Gushchin - Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg
  • Rodrigo Abols - SC Bern
  • Nicolas Petan - Shanghai Dragons

Obviously, the list of international players who have signed in the NHL is long. There are the likes of Alex Ovechkin, Frederik Andersen, Sergei Bobrovsky, and more.

There are also notable free agents left on the open market, like Patrik Laine, who is searching for a new place to call home after a difficult season. Or Vladimir Tarasenko, Eeli Tolvanen, and John Klingberg.

As of right now, things have slowed down in terms of free agent signings and rumours. That will likely remain the same for the next month. But as we approach the middle of August, things are going to heat back up, and leagues around the globe will be adding players that haven't yet signed in the NHL.
