

When Switzerland announced its preliminary roster on Monday, it was strongly indicated that Nashville Predators captain and Norris Trophy finalist Roman Josi would soon be added. Now that is confirmed. The Swiss Ice Hockey Federation announced on Wednesday evening that Josi was on his way to Prague.
“Because of Roman, the elimination of his Nashville team from the playoffs obviously hurt me,” said Patrick Fischer. “On the other hand, I am extremely happy for Switzerland: we are getting a leader and invaluable team support.”
Fischer's comments make this tweet by former European hockey guru Szymon Szemberg somewhat prophetic:
Most of the Swiss team is already in Prague, ready for their tournament opener on Friday against Norway. As Josi is expected to arrive on Thursday, it is highly possible that he will be in the Swiss lineup.
