With a lot of commits coming in 2027. Who are the new names throwing on the Black Bears jersey this upcoming season? Will they help the team win now, or is this a long-term plan?

The Hockey East continues to be a powerhouse conference, and with Maine bringing a very small number of freshmen this season, a lot of their current commits are for the 2027-28 season, including Philadelphia Flyers first-round pick Maksim Sokolovskii; it’s going to be a different-looking roster. Who are these names stepping onto campus this fall?

All entry years are from CollegeHockeyNews and are subject to change. Players are listed alphabetically by last name.

Rowan Calvert –Left Winger, Saskatoon Blades (WHL)

Calvert posted back-to-back 53-point seasons in the WHL, and in his final season, he had 31 goals, an increase of 7 from the year prior.

Calvert also saw a lot of success in this past season’s playoffs, where he put up seven points in 11 games for the Blades. To add to that, he was also an assistant captain in his final two seasons with the team.

Masun Fleece –Right Winger, Dubuque Fighting Saints (USHL)

Fleece saw a lot of point production over the last two seasons. The Rolling Hills, California native had 25 goals and 47 points in 49 games.

Fleece was also a standout player for Shattuck St. Mary’s, which had multiple draft picks, including Nashville Predators’ first-round pick in 2025, Ryker Lee.

Dante Siciliano –Defenseman, Brooks Bandits (BCHL)

Siciliano played three years of junior in Canada, playing in both the AJHL and the BCHL. He has seen an insane amount of winning in the last two seasons with the Bandits in the BCHL in back-to-back seasons.

The six-foot-two defenseman played 42 playoff games in those two years and posted 20 points across those two runs.

Although they aren’t bringing in an insane amount of players, they are setting themselves up for long-term success, and hopefully the team can go back to its winning ways.
