Michaluk brings WHL experience and a strong work ethic to defend Bowling Green's crease.
Bowling Green State University continues its trend of committing players with Canadian Hockey League backgrounds. Netminder Cooper Michaluk committed to the Falcons from the Trail Smoke Eaters late yesterday In 25 games, during the 2025-26 campaign, he earned a 14-9-1 record, an .899 save percentage, and 3.07 goals allowed average. Prior to this year in the BCHL, Michaluk spent parts of four seasons in the WHL between the Spokane Chiefs and Prince George Cougars.
In the press release, Smoke Eaters General Manager & Head Coach Eric Thurston had high praise for Michaluk saying, "He worked incredibly hard during his time here and consistently showed the professionalism and compete level needed to succeed at the next level. Bowling Green is getting a goalie who gives his team a chance to win every night."
As an age-out player, Michaluk will join the Falcons this fall and could make an immediate impact with the other CHL alumni at Bowling Green State.
