Jack Thomas is headed home to play Division I Hockey! The St. Louis native and former club hockey defenseman at Grand Canyon University announced his advancement to the new Division I Maryville University via Instagram this morning.
Thomas is a rough and tumble offensive blueliner. In 2024-25, he led the Antelopes with 17 assists and 64 penalty minutes through 27 games. This certainly fits his play style from junior hockey, racking up 100 penalty minutes in 61 games during the 2023-24 North American Hockey League season. During this past season at Grand Canyon, Thomas served as team captain despite being a sophomore.
Maryville will no doubt rely on his physicality in their inaugural season seeing as their recruits to this point have been more skilled players.
