The New Jersey Devils announced today that they have signed Michigan Wolverines defenseman Seamus Casey to a three-year entry-level deal.

Casey, 20, just finished his sophomore season at Michigan after his Wolverines went to the Frozen Four for the second straight season.

The Devils' 46th overall pick in the 2022 draft had seven goals and 45 points in 39 games for Michigan.

In his two years for Michigan Casey registered 15 goals, 59 assists, and 74 points in 77 games. The 5-foot-10 defender was First-Team All-American, First-Team All-Big Ten, Big Ten All-Tournament Team, and Academic All Big Team this year.

He also made the Big Ten All-Tournament Team and the All-Freshman Team during his first year.

He will join Luke Hughes as the next Michigan defenseman to play for the Devils. Hughes just completed his first full NHL season with the Devils and is a Calder Trophy Finalist.
