The 2021 seventh-round pick signed a three-year entry level deal with the Coyotes.

The Arizona Coyotes announced Thursday they have signed Quinnipiac forward Sam Lipkin to a three-year entry-level contract.

The 2021 seventh-round pick (223rd overall) of the Coyotes spent two seasons with the Bobcats, where he had 29 goals and 49 assists for 78 points in 78 career NCAA games.

Lipkin played a big role in helping the Bobcats win a national championship last season, where he registered assists on both the game-tying and overtime-winning goals in last year's championship game against Minnesota.

Lipkin is a smart and skilled player who is able to make quick plays at top speed. Whether that is finding players through layers in the slot or timing himself into space to bury a rebound, he is a threat if left unwatched in the offensive zone.

While it may be a few years before he sees the NHL, the Coyotes would be best served to stay patient with Lipkin as he gets adjusted to the professional level.

Lipkin will join the Tucson Roadrunners for the remainder of the season on an ATO as his contract isn't slated to start until 2024-25.
