Boston University freshman forward Cole Eiserman was among the Hockey East monthly award winners for October, the league announced on Thursday.

Cole Eiserman (NYI) could not have drawn up a better start to his freshman campaign.

The New York Islanders draft pick already has four goals and five points in his first five games.

On Thursday, he was recognized for his efforts and named the Hockey East's Rookie of the Month for October.

Eiserman started the year with a bang. Four goals in his first three games, including a two-goal outing in Boston University's 4-2 win against UConn.

He now has points in four of his first five games.

Eiserman and Boston University face a big test, hosting No. 11-ranked Michigan for two.

Player of the Month - Jake Percival, F (UConn)

Percival recorded six goals and two assists in seven games, including two multi-point outings and two shorthanded goals.

The junior forward is currently tied for the team lead in points (8) and shots on goal (29) and owns the second-best plus/minus rating (+6).

Defender of the Month - Brandon Holt, D (Maine)

Holt finished the month with seven points on two goals, including one on the power play, and five assists in only five games.

The junior defenseman registered 15 shots on goal, tied for the second-most on Maine's roster.

Added, Holt finished with a +5 plus/minus rating and three blocked shots.

Goaltender of the Month - Henry Welsch, G (UMass Lowell)

Welsch is a big reason the River Hawks are back in the polls.

The graduate netminder has started four games and collected wins in every outing.

Welsch boasts an impressive 1.75 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage.

He has allowed two or fewer goals in three of his first four starts.
