The Maple Leafs bolster their center depth with Quillan signing.

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced they have signed Quinnipiac star center Jacob Quillan to a two-year entry-level contract.

The 22-year old finished second on the Bobcats in regular season scoring with 46 points in 39 games, three behind highly sought after free agent Collin Graf. He also took home the Eastern College Athletic Conference Gladiator Best Defensive Forward Award.

While his team was eliminated in a heartbreaking 5-4 overtime loss to Boston College last night, Quillan was a major factor in the close game, finishing the night with two goals and six shots on net.

Quillan was one of the top college free agents in this year’s class, with some NHL scouts believing the Dartmouth, N.S., native has higher upside than Graf, according to Daily Faceoff insider Frank Seravalli.

Quillan brings a strong two-way presence and is no stranger to coming up clutch in important moments, having scored the overtime winning goal to win the 2023 NCAA championship for Quinnipiac.

In 116 career NCAA games across three seasons, Quillan notched 38 goals and 55 assists. He is expected to join the Marlies for the rest of the season.
