Flyers Prospect Pool Gets a Big Boost at the NHL Draft, Literally Flyers Prospect Pool Gets a Big Boost at the NHL Draft, Literally After managing to make four selections in the second round of the 2025 NHL Draft, the Philadelphia Flyers are making their prospect pool a whole lot bigger and better.

The Flyers are well on their way to becoming one of the most hated teams to play against once again.

Why? In the NHL draft, the Orange and Black landed some of biggest and most petulant prospects the class had to offer.

Porter Martone is big and supremely skilled, while Jack Nesbitt is even bigger and more physical, built for commanding the middle of the ice.

Then there's 6-foot-6 Carter Amico, who skates like a gazelle. Jack Murtagh and Shane Vansaghi are two pests with underrated offensive skillsets, and between them can be center Matthew Gard who, like Nesbitt, can combine the size and skill aspects on the ice, albeit a better skater with worse puck skills than his first-round counterpart.

That's a lot of size and physicality to add to an NHL team all at what will effectively be at once in three or four years.
