The Minnesota Frost are the Walter Cup champions of the Professional Women's Hockey League once again after their Game 4 win Monday night. So it's safe to say we have a dynasty on our hands.

Wait, what? The Frost will lose some very key players to expansion this summer?

Well perhaps, then, the expansion rules, which include an exclusive signing window and draft, will do to the Frost what the other five teams in the PWHL have been unable to do in the playoffs. And that's sad for an organization that has figured out the perfect balance between just making the playoffs and going on a championship run.

But is it unfair to them? Heck, no. This is a league that is riding a wave of interest, so much so that it is expanding by one-third next season when Seattle and Vancouver join the PWHL.

Yes, the Frost and the other five teams will lose players. Very good ones.

But making those expansion teams competitive right away is a priority for a league that has a vested interest in ensuring Vancouver and Seattle can compete. And they're adding 46 jobs to the league as well.
