The NHL Announced Saturday that the Salary Cap for next season will be raised to $88 Million.
The League and the NHL Players’ Association announced Saturday that the Salary Cap will increase to $88 Million next season.
This is an increase of $4.5 million from this year's $83.5 million. The cap has not risen more than $4 million season over season since it went up $4.5 million from $75 million in 2017-18 to $79.5 million in 2018-19.
The Salary cap was at $81.5 million from 2019-22 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It did rise $1 million in each of the past two seasons but it will now take a $4.5 million increase next season.
Along with the new cap hit comes a new lower limit. The lower limit per team for next season will be $65 million and the midpoint will be $76.5 million. This won't matter for the Wild though as they enter next season with the highest dead cap space in the league.
