After Team USA captured gold at the under-17 World Challenge hockey tournament on Saturday, Ken Campbell breaks down some of the standout prospects to keep an eye on for the 2028 NHL draft.

Anyone hoping or expecting USA's run of international hockey success to come to an end anytime soon would undoubtedly be disappointed Saturday night after Team USA won the under-17 World Challenge hockey tournament with a 3-0 win over Czechia in the final.

The Americans, the only team of the six in the tournament that plays together all season, was full marks for its win.

Canada, which split its 44 players into Canada Red and Canada White, were a disappointment. Red beat White 8-4 in a bronze medal game that featured very little intensity or physicality and even less good goaltending.

But Maddox Schultz, the early favorite to go No. 1 in the 2028 NHL draft, did not disappoint, leading the tournament in goals (six), assists (10) and points (16).
