With the NHL Draft coming up on June 28th, here is a full list of the Wild's current draft picks. They have a first, a second, one fourth, two fifth round picks, and one sixth. They don't have a third round pick or a seventh.
After finishing 21st in the NHL during the regular season the Wild will select 13th in the first round of the Draft this year.
As of now the Wild will have the 45th overall pick in the Draft. If Cole Hutson is still available then, the Wild should definitely draft him.
Minnesota does not have a third round pick this year because they traded the pick to the Washington Capitals at the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline for Marcus Johansson. The Montreal Canadiens now have the pick after they traded Joel Edmundson to the Capitals for a third and a seventh.
There was no trade to get pick 110. This is where the Wild will pick based on how they finished the season.
The Wild will have two picks in the fifth round this year after getting a fifth round pick from the Buffalo Sabres for Jordan Greenway. They will also pick at 142.
Pick No. 174 will be the Wild's last pick in the draft as they do not have a seventh round pick. Barring any trade, the Wild's last pick will be in the sixth round.
The Wild traded their seventh round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Pat Maroon. They then flipped Maroon at the deadline to Boston for Luke Toporowski and a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2026 Draft.
Without any additions or subtractions, the Minnesota Wild will have six picks in the upcoming 2024 NHL Draft.
