Will MacLaren and Patrick McNeil discuss the Cape Breton Eagles, a Halifax Mooseheads trade, Seattle Kraken's QMJHL prospect and alumni and more.

Jacob Melanson is the lone QMJHL prospect for the Seattle Kraken.

This week on The Hockey News On The 'Q' Podcast with Will MacLaren and guest co-host Patrick McNeil, play-by-play commentator for the Cape Breton Eagles:

    - The Cape Breton Eagles are second-last in the QMJHL with an 8-12-2-1 record. They did somewhat better in the past 10 games with five wins, four regulation losses and a shootout loss, so what can the team take from this past stretch to move onward?

    - The Halifax Mooseheads are making a push to the top by acquiring Josh Lawrence from Blainville-Boisbriand. He's in his fifth QMJHL season and has 32 points in 25 games so far.

    - The Eagles theme continues as Xavier Daigle is the 2023 NHL draft-eligible prospect of the week. The rookie blueliner has 12 points in 23 games for Cape Breton so far this season.

    - The Seattle Kraken are profiled this week. They only have one prospect still in the QMJHL, and that's right winger Jacob Melanson of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. The fifth-round pick in 2021 has averaged more than a point per game for the past three seasons in the 'Q'.

    - And more.
