Can Cronin change the Ducks outlook?

After the season the Anaheim Ducks just had that saw them finish with the worst record across the NHL, it can’t be overstated how important the offseason is. Anaheim checked off their first box this week, bringing in Greg Cronin as the team’s new head coach. Cronin earned his first leading gig after spending the last five years with the Colorado Eagles of the AHL. He is known as a great developmental coach, who has the ability to get the best out of his players.

"A real influx of new talent coming in that my skill set as a coach will mesh really well with what Pat is trying to do here and his staff, in terms of building a championship team."

Cronin has spent 12 years as an assistant in the NHL so he knows the game and has been around it for awhile now. The Ducks certainly feel as if he will be the missing piece to help get this team back into contention and possibly fighting for a championship. Anaheim has missed the playoffs five years in a row and want to start rebuilding the winning culture they had years ago.

The Ducks have a plethora of young talent including center Trevor Zegras, wing Troy Terry, center Mason McTavish, defender Jamie Drysdale and more. Anaheim is loaded with prospects that can make a difference at the professional level and they will be relying on Cronin to bring out the best in them.

Additionally, the Ducks hold the second overall pick in the upcoming NHL Draft and will be getting a real difference maker that could help turn around the fortunes of this proud franchise.

Good times are ahead for the Ducks after some down years. This is the start to a massive offseason that could help them get back into shape.
