Bruins Confirmed Lineup For Showdown Against Reigning Stanley Cup Champs

The Boston Bruins (9-2-1) have had nothing short of a dream, fairytale start to the 2026-27 season.

The Bruins currently sit atop the Atlantic Division, surging past preseason favorites like the Tampa Bay Lightning and Montreal Canadiens.

The only team better than the Bruins in the Eastern Conference thus far?

That'd be tonight's opponent, the Carolina Hurricanes (9-2-2).

The 'Canes are as good as it gets in the NHL, and it should be of no shock to anyone around these parts.

Carolina, including their 16-3 playoff run, have gone 25-4-3 in their last 32 games.

Dominance is the top word.

The red-hot Bruins, anchored by their youth, are not making any changes to their lineup for tonight's game.

There's no reason to, not when the top guys like David Pastrnak and JJ Peterka are producing.

When the youth looks like this, there's never a reason either:

Fraser Minten: 5 goals, 5 assists, 10 points in 12 games. Tied for second in points.

James Hagens: 4 goals, 5 assists, 9 points in 12 games. All as a 19-year-old rookie.

Matthew Poitras: 4 goals, 3 assists, 7 points in 9 games. An unbelievably good start, all while mostly centering the team's fourth line.

In net, it'll be Jeremy Swayman backstopping the Bruins. He's been arguably the best goalie in the entire NHL this season. This level comes after he finished as Vezina Finalist last season.

The puck drops in Raleigh just after 8 o'clock, with the game being a nationally-televised ESPN showcase.
