These two former Bruins have hit the waiver wire.

Two former Boston Bruins players are available for the taking.

This is because the Colorado Avalanche have placed forward Georgii Merkulov on waivers, while the Nashville Predators have waived defenseman Jack Ahcan.

Merkulov signed with the Avalanche during the off-season after spending multiple seasons in the Bruins' system. While the 26-year-old forward was fantastic down in the AHL with the Providence Bruins, he never cemented himself a full-time spot in Boston's lineup.

In 11 games over three seasons with Boston from 2023-24 to 2025-26, he posted one assist, 11 blocks, and a minus-1 rating. He also had 94 goals, 146 assists, and 240 points in 271 games with Providence over five AHL seasons.

Merkulov started the 2026-27 season on injured reserve and has yet to play a game at any level this campaign. If he passes through waivers unclaimed, he will join the Avalanche's AHL affiliate, the Colorado Eagles.

Ahcan, on the other hand, in his first season with the Predators organization. In three games this season with Nashville, the left-shot defenseman has posted one assist and a minus-1 rating.

Ahcan spent last season with the Avalanche, posting two assists and a plus-2 rating in 11 games. He primarily played in the AHL with the Eagles, though, where he had 11 goals and 50 points in 61 games.

Ahcan appeared in nine games with Boston over two seasons from 2020-21 to 2021-22, where he recorded one goal, 10 blocks, 10 hits, and a minus-6 rating.
