Because of this, let's discuss three Bruins who are under the most pressure for the 2026-27 campaign.
Elias Lindholm
Elias Lindholm undoubtedly has a lot of pressure heading into next season. The 31-year-old has not been living up to his seven-year, $54.25 million contract, and the Bruins need him to make much more of an impact in their top six. If he does not, his contract will only continue to draw criticism as the team's worst.
Matthew Poitras
This feels like a make-or-break season for Matthew Poitras. The 22-year-old forward needs to prove that he is ready to be a full-time NHL player after multiple years in the Bruins' system. The young forward played in just three games for Boston last season but will be looking to make their Opening Night roster by having a strong preseason.
Mason Lohrei
If the Bruins do not trade Mason Lohrei before the start of the season, he will enter the season with a lot of pressure, too. The 25-year-old blueliner has struggled with consistency and was notably scratched for multiple games during the playoffs. The Bruins' blueline is also very crowded, so the 2020 second-round pick will need to deliver if he ends up staying put.
