It's time for the Bruins to make some changes to their roster.
The Boston Bruins are due for some roster changes. After an ugly 4-0 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on home ice, the Original Six club has now lost five straight games.
With the Bruins' offense continuing to be non-existent, let's look at three Providence Bruins players Boston should seriously consider recalling.
Matthew Poitras has played excellently since being demoted to Providence in November. In 21 games, he has eight goals, 18 points, and a plus-6 rating. This included an impressive seven-game goal streak from Dec. 6 to Dec. 18.

Ultimately, Poitras has shown progress in the AHL, and now seems like the right time to give him another opportunity with the NHL club.
Fabian Lysell made his NHL debut on Dec. 28 against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Overall, he looked solid with Boston, posting a plus-1 rating in 11:32 of ice time. However, he was immediately sent back to the AHL after the contest.

With the Bruins needing more offense, why shouldn't they give their top winger prospect another opportunity? He has 18 points in 28 games with the AHL squad this season, including four points in his last three contests.
Georgii Merkulov is another intriguing option for the Bruins to consider giving another chance to. He is continuing to thrive in the AHL this campaign, recording seven goals and 27 points in 30 games. This is after he had 30 goals and 65 points in 67 games with Providence last season.

Merkulov looked decent during his call-up to Boston earlier this season as well, posting an assist in three games. Considering how well he has played in Providence, it may not be the worst idea in the world to give him another shot.
