The Bruins should consider pursuing these three remaining free agents.
The Boston Bruins have a few additions to their roster this off-season. Yet, when looking at their current group, it is fair to argue that they should not be done yet.
While they brought in JJ Peterka from the Utah Mammoth, the Bruins could still use some help with their forward group.
Because of this, let's look at three remaining unrestricted free agents who could be worth taking a flier on for the Bruins.
Patrik Laine, Montreal Canadiens
Patrik Laine is an interesting buy-low candidate for the Bruins. The 28-year-old missed all but five games last season for the Canadiens but has an impressive resume. With the Bruins needing more skill and scoring, Laine could be worth taking a gamble on with a one-year, prove-it deal. In 52 games for the Habs in 2024-25, he had 20 goals and 33 points. He also had 52 points in 55 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2022-23 and 56 points in 56 games in 2021-22.
Anthony Mantha, Pittsburgh Penguins
If the Bruins want to add more size and scoring to their top nine, Anthony Mantha would make sense for them to target. The 31-year-old forward posted career highs with 33 goals, 31 assists, and 64 points in 81 games last season with the Penguins. After a year like this, it is surprising that he is still available in free agency. If his asking price drops now that July 1 has passed, he could be a forward worth bringing in on a short-term deal.
Vladimir Tarasenko, Minnesota Wild
Vladimir Tarasenko is another interesting UFA forward who would have the potential to be a good pickup for the Bruins. While the 34-year-old forward is no longer a first-line talent, he is still a very solid middle-six forward who produces well offensively. In 75 games last season for the Wild, he recorded 23 goals and 47 points. With numbers like these, the two-time Stanley Cup champion could give Boston some more secondary scoring if signed to a one-year deal.
