Who could the Bruins lock up to contract extensions next?
The Boston Bruins made a massive move on Tuesday, as they signed forward Fraser Minten to a seven-year, $50.4 million contract.
With the Bruins locking up Minten, let's look at four more players who they could extend next.
Pavel Zacha
With Minten signing a contract extension, all eyes should be on Pavel Zacha. The 29-year-old is entering the season as a pending UFA and certainly could be extended when noting that he is Boston's best center. In 78 games last season, he posted 30 goals and 65 points.
Marat Khusnutdinov
Could the Bruins look to lock up another young forward in Khusnutdinov? The possibility should not be ruled out. The 24-year-old forward just had a breakout year for Boston, posting career highs with 15 goals, 18 assists, and 33 points in 77 games. With this, it would not be surprising if Boston extended before the season as he enters the final season of his contract.
Casey Mittelstadt
If Mittelstadt has a strong start to the season, it could help his chances of getting a contract extension from Boston. If the 27-year-old forward is once again a solid part of the Bruins' top six and produces offense as he did during his best seasons with the Buffalo Sabres, he could be a player the Bruins end up extending.
Matthew Poitras
Matthew Poitras is currently without a contract for the 2026-27 season, as he is a restricted free agent. While Poitras' next deal will be an immediate contract rather than an extension, he is still obviously a player to watch. The Bruins need to decide if they see a future with the young forward or if they are going to move on from him.
