The Boston Bruins have announced that Marco Sturm has been hired as their next head coach.

The Bruins revealed Sturm as their new head coach through a video on their official X account.

Sturm had been heavily connected to the Bruins' vacant head coaching job, and now he has officially landed it. His goal from here will now be to help the Bruins get things back on track after a disastrous 2024-25 season.

Sturm spent each of the last three seasons as head coach of the Ontario Reign. This was after the 46-year-old was an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Kings from 2018-19 to 2021-22.

Sturm is certainly someone Bruins fans know well, as he played five seasons with the Original Six club as a player. In 302 games as a Bruin, the 1996 first-round pick recorded 106 goals, 193 points, and a plus-24 rating.
