Boston Bruins goalie prospect Michael DiPietro has added another award to his trophy case.
The Providence Bruins have announced that DiPietro has won the Les Cunningham Award as the AHL's MVP for the 2025-26 season. This comes shortly after DiPietro was named the winner of the Aldege "Baz" Bastien Memorial Award as the AHL's best goaltender for the second season in a row.
When looking at the season DiPietro had with Providence, it is very easy to understand why he has been named the AHL's MVP for this campaign. In 45 games this regular season with Providence, he had a 34-8-1 record. He also had an AHL-best 1.91 goals-against average and an AHL-best .930 save percentage.
With numbers like these, there is no question that DiPietro had a special season in the AHL. It was the second great year in a row for the Bruins prospect, and it should only be a matter of time before he ends up getting a real chance in the NHL.
