The Bruins have trimmed their training camp roster.
The Boston Bruins have placed five players on waivers as they inch closer to the 2026-27 season.
According to PuckPedia, the Bruins have placed Jordan Harris, Brendan Gaunce, Brian Halonen, Jiri Patera, and Billy Sweezey on waivers.
Out of this group of players, Harris is the most notable. The 26-year-old could generate interest from teams looking for defensive depth due to his age and his decent amount of NHL experience.
Harris was limited to only eight games for Boston last season, where he posted one goal, three points, and an even plus/minus rating.
Gaunce appeared in 25 games last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets, where he posted two goals and six points. He also had 16 goals and 36 points in 44 AHL games with the Cleveland Monsters. He was also previously with the Bruins organization during the 2019-20 season.
Halonen played in 15 games last season with the New Jersey Devils, posting one goal, one assist, and 28 hits. In the AHL with the Utica Comets last season, he recorded 20 goals and 34 points in 51 games.
Patera made one NHL appearance last season with the Vancouver Canucks, where he allowed seven goals on 40 shots. In 30 AHL games with the Abbotsford Canucks in 2025-26, he had a 12-14-2 record, a .910 save percentage, and a 2.63 goals-against average.
As for Sweezey, he posted one goal, 17 points, 84 penalty minutes, and a plus-21 rating in 69 games with the Providence Bruins last season. The 6-foot-1 defenseman is entering his third season with the Bruins organization.
