Bruins Agitator Named As Top Trade Candidate

This Bruins forward is continuing to create chatter in the rumor mill.

Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederic has been one of the most-talked-about trade candidates in the NHL this season. Now, this is only continuing as we get closer to the deadline, as he has now been ranked at the No. 14 spot on NHL insider Frank Seravalli's latest Trade Targets board.

Seravalli also reported that Frederic "has drawn lots of interest" around the NHL. 

Frederic, 26, is in the final season of his contract, so there have naturally been questions about his future with the Bruins. He has also had a rough season, posting six goals, six assists, and a minus-10 rating in 42 games. This is after he set career highs last season with 18 goals, 22 assists, and 40 points in 82 games.

With Frederic being a pending UFA and carrying value, he could be a player the Bruins include in a package to land a proper top-six winger. However, if they continue to struggle and find themselves out of the playoff race near the deadline, he also could traded as a rental to a contender.

It will be intriguing to see what happens with Frederic this season, but the trade rumors will only continue to surround him as we get closer and closer to the deadline.
