Charlie McAvoy was honest while speaking to reporters following the Bruins' win against the Kings.

Boston Bruins star defenseman Charlie McAvoy stepped up for the Original Six club against the Los Angeles Kings, as he scored the overtime winner. However, the road to getting there was certainly tough for McAvoy.

During the second period of the contest, McAvoy received a hard hit from Kings forward Samuel Helenius that led to him getting another facial injury. McAvoy left the contest before returning for the third period.

Following the game, McAvoy was quite transparent about his frustration about getting another injury to his face.

"I need to get more dental work," McAvoy said following the game with his mouth still bleeding. "You know, I wish the hits would stop coming, honestly. It's just tiring. My mouth honestly can't even feel worse, but I'll get some work. We got a really good dentist here who's great."

It is hard not to feel bad for McAvoy, as the Bruins star blueliner has been getting plenty of injuries to his face this season. This is just the latest example, but at least this time he ended up getting the last laugh by scoring the overtime winner for Boston.

With his clutch performance against the Kings, McAvoy now has seven goals, 39 assists, 46 points, and a plus-4 rating in 52 games this season for the Bruins. The 28-year-old blueliner is having an excellent season for the Black and Gold, and it will be interesting to see how he builds on it from here.
