Team USA is set to play Team Canada on Feb. 20 for the 4 Nations Face-Off championship game. It is a game that hockey fans are incredibly excited about, as both teams are full of incredible skill and toughness.
Boston Bruins star defenseman Charlie McAvoy, unfortunately, will not be in the lineup for Team USA. The 2016 first-round pick was admitted to the hospital on Feb. 18 after having an infection in his right shoulder that stemmed from a "significant injury" to his AC Joint, as the Bruins announced on Feb. 19.
McAvoy has now provided fans with a new update, and it is undoubtedly a good one. Through his Instagram story, No. 73 took a picture from inside the car, indicating that he is now out of the hospital.
McAvoy also captioned the post "Free as a bird," which is a call to Team USA's goal song for the tournament, Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
While McAvoy still has more recovering to do before he can get back on the ice, it excellent to see that he has made enough progress where he was allowed to leave the hospital.
