Should the Bruins trade for Trevor Zegras?

The Boston Bruins have had mixed results to start their season. Because of this, trade rumors surrounding the team has been growing.

In a recent article for Responsible Gambler, Jimmy Murphy wrote that an NHL executive told him the Columbus Blue Jackets expressed interest in Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo. However, Murphy also added that any talks between the Bruins and Blue Jackets about Carlo have likely ended, as the Blue Jackets claimed fellow right-shot defenseman Dante Fabbro off waivers earlier this week.

While Carlo may have grabbed the attention of the Blue Jackets, it would be a risk if the Bruins traded him anywhere. He is an important part of the Bruins' blueline, as he is their second-pairing right-shot defenseman and one of their top penalty-killers. Thus, moving him would create another notable hole in their lineup.

Carlo, 27, carries a $4.1 million cap hit until the end of the 2026-27 season. In 17 games this season with the Bruins, he has one goal, two assists, 24 hits, and a plus-1 rating.
